Compensation?

Hello All,

 

I am just after some advice whether it's worth spending hours on the phone to TalkTalk for compensation or to just switch.

 

In March 2021 I moved house and TalkTalk transferred by Fibre 65 to the new address.

 

At the time when looking online for a new contract Fibre 35 was the only available option - although the contract had transferred and stated all the specs from Fibre 65.

 

I contacted TalkTalk in June 2021 and tried to explain this and how that my speed was below the minimum guaranteed. To which they done their tests etc and confirmed that Fibre 35 was the only option and I would not get 65 speeds - they did not know how I was in a Fibre 65 contract and I was told there was nothing to make my speeds faster.

 

I called again a few months later, similar situation.

 

Fast Forward to this weekend, I switched to BT 900 and received a call from TalkTalk with a better deal and the promise of compensation since I never had the guaranteed speeds - which after 2 hours going between departments no compensation as qualified for.

 

I had received an email from Open Reach in Oct 2024 telling me full fibre is now available to my address, so now when I try to explain this on the phone I am just told I have Fibre 65 so it must have been available - which as above, it was not.

 

Any advice would be appreciated 🙂

Hi @ThomasyTasty I'd call 03451720088 tell them you are thinking of leaving and why and see what falls out.
