Talk Talk should be ashamed of themselves!, obviously many of us are struggling with cost of living right now, so I've looked to see if talk talk do a package for those on Benefits or who are disabled, they don't, only students!, i have found another provider, who offers these packages and is much cheaper, signed up today, talk, talk are charging me at least £216 to leave!!, that's disgusting!!, i've been a customer for many years, which meant i would have though that I wouldn't get charges to leave, I'm leaving because they don't help those of us who are on benefits (I'm long term sick, so can't work), the amount they want will empty my bank account, as I don't get that amount to live on a week, I hope they're proud of themselves!!, so they are prepared to leave someone who is already struggling with no money to feed themselves or pay their bills??, if they offered us help, I wouldn't be leaving!, contacted them earlier to be told after the end date, you can contact us and appeal, great, are they going to pay for my food for a week??!!

Hi Redlady
Im sorry that you are unhappy, You renewed your contract in January 2023 and agreed to the terms and conditions which includes early termination fees and unfortunately does not take into account previous length of service.
Its a business decision not to offer social tariffs, we are still competitively priced for the length of the contract, if you do have problems paying I would advise calling our customer payment support team for assistance.
Apologies again.

It doesn't matter how long you have been a customer, if you have ever renewed a contract then you will be bound by those terms.. I do sympathise with your situation. I can only repeat the advice I gave earlier. And I am just a customer like yourself. So do wait for someone from TalkTalk to advise further, hopefully tomorrow.

How can it be an 'early' contract, when I have been a customer for at least ten years!, i've even looked at reducing my package, I get a call package, that costs £14 a month, which I need, as i'm a vulnerable adult and need to use the phone often

I think it's awful that I've been put in this position, why can't talk talk offer packages for those in hardship?, you want us as customers, yet when you don't offer anything and we feel that we need to go to a new provider, you charge us, this is all the fault of Talk, Talk, I will not be left without any money in my account to feed myself or pay my bills, if need be, i will contact Ofcom, i can't even change and stay with you, as I've been told the switch over is in April, I understand about contracts, but thought that as I had been a customer for many years wouldn't have an issue?, I'm sure I won't be the only customer who has this problem!

I am sorry to see this. There are a number of providers who offer so-called social tariffs, unfortunately TalkTalk are not amongst them. And if you entered into a contract with TalkTalk knowingly then if you switch to another provider in the meantime you will be liable for early termination charges I am afraid. The support team here will look at this for you. The best I can advise personally is to raise a complaint on the grounds of the hardship it will cost you.
