I notice that I am billed £26 per month for Essentials SMPF. I am still charged for calls and line rental. What exactly am I receiving for my £26? This contributes more than 50% of my bill.

But it looks likely that we will cancel the whole Talk Talk account and take up the Landline with Virgin.
Talk Talk broadband was rubbish and when Virgin Media became available in our street we switched for a much better service.

its not possible to cancel just 1 part of the service ie broadband, all packages are bundled and have been for a very long time any cancellation request would have cancelled the entire service, I cant find any notes asking for a cancellation.
All the bills are valid regardless if you used the broadband it was still supplied.

No. We only took the broadband from Vrgin and kept the landlines with TalkTalk. My Dad definitely phoned TalkTalk to cancel the broadband in early September 2021 as I was there at the time. The lady at the other end of the phone kept repeatedly asking him to keep the service and we had to state over and over again that we now had Virgin broadband.
It was obvious she didn't cancel the TalkTalk broadband service and by sneakily calling it ab Essentials package how were we supposed to know what it was for.
The service can be checked. We have not accessed TalkTalk's broadband since August 2021. We have never received a new updated router that is advertised on TV.

Its is a full package deal Line rental/broadband/telephone always has been, and we do send you itemized bills each month I'm presuming Virgin gave you a new landline aswell?

We don't have Broadband via Talk Talk. We cancelled it a few years ago when we connected to Virgin.
So we are owed several years worth of £26 a month.
I shall certainly phone this afternoon.

Essentials SMPF is the broadband service.
You are on a package that was discontinued over 10 years ago when we charged separately for each service, we now bundle all those services under 1 lower price, to reduce your costs call the loyalty team 03451720088
