I have just looked at my bill in more detail and I have been charged for an engineer visit, which I had last month. But the engineer informed me that the problem was outside my property which was beyond my control so Im not sure why I was charged?

It's probably due to your contract period and promotional period expiring.
You can check this in My Account and if so, I'd suggest you phone the Loyalty Team to discuss as they hold the best deals and you can tailor your requirements with them.
