Phone & Broadband Charges

I had a representative from TalkTalk cold call on me this afternoon. 

After asking what I was being charged for my phone & Fibre Broadband he went online and suggested I was being overcharged and that he could get a better charge. Again after showing me what I was being charged he then went to his tablet and after asking a few more questions told me that he could get me a new contract at just £26.00. 

He made a few more adjustments and then asked me to fill in some questions on his tablet. At this stage, I declined and finished my discussion with him. 

What was this all about?

Was this a caller in person on your doorstep?

 

Please clarify and did they have ID of some sort?

 

Are you near the end of your current contract?

 

Probably wise not to progress with it if in any doubt at all.
