Hi,
A few days ago, my usually stable connection dropped a couple of times. On restarting it would connect at 5Mb. Today on a re-boot its connected at 8Mb. However it used to be solid at 12Mb with about 10Mb recorded on speed tests. Right now I'm getting about 6Mb.
When I run a connection test on the talk talk site it tells me there is something wrong with my broadband and to check back in a 'few days'. This was a week ago. Tried the connection test again and again told there is something wrong and to check back in a few days.
Router is currently plugged into the master socket. Could you run a test?
thanks

Hi vital1
Yes this is a FTTC connection. Would you like me to send a replacement router for testing?

Hi,
No, not received another router. Just checked my download stats for before I went to FTTC and my current download speed is roughly what is was prior to the switch. So in 2021 I was connected at 9M with a measured download of 7.66. Now I have a connection of 12M but the download is 7. 4 instead of 9-10 which I've been used to. Am I still on FTTC?
thanks

Hi vital1
Thanks for your reply.
I've completed another line test and this is clear - no faults detected, however I can see re connections on the line.
Have we sent you a replacement router for testing?

Hi,
Been away a couple of days. To answer your questions: The filter is connected to the test socket. There is no noise on the voice line.
Currently connected at 12M and getting 6-7M on speed tests so quite a bit down on what I was getting.
I've left the router and phone connected to the test socket.
thanks

Hi vital1,
Thanks for the update. Is there any noise on the voice service? Does your main socket have a test socket please? If it does then would it be possible to connect the microfilter, router and phone directly at the test socket so we can re-check your connection stats again?
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the response. For some reason the SamKnows site does nothing for me. Just sits there saying 'Testing latency'. Using chrome.
Using Ookla I'm getting 7Mb which is better than earlier this week but still shy of the 10Mb I've had for the last couple of years. Is there another profile you could try? Any idea why this has changed? Seemed to coincide with the torrential rain last week that sometimes upsets the cabinet.
thanks

Hi
Line tests are clear this morning with no issues showing and sync speed is just over 11mb, What speeds are you seeing at Sam Knows Speedtest
Thanks
Karl.

Hi,
Permanently connected. I just noticed that on the last restart it connected at 11.1. Download 7Mb on speed test. Would be nice to get back to a 10Mb download.
thanks

Hi @vital1 your post has been escalated and you should hear tomorrow. You mention at least two restarts, is your router permanently connected?
