When I start to edit the IP address eg from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 it throws my session all the way to the login panel. I can delete the last digit 1 but as soon as I type 2 it throws me off.

@SpartacusAmI, yes staff responded to the original poster by mistake.
To avoid such confusion, you should always start your own topic for support from staff - they only follow up for the original poster; it helps give Talktalk a clearer idea of numbers affected by an issue, instead of being just another answer in a thread.
And it helps avoid confusion between accounts in the replies.
This thread concluded back in February, which is why staff treated your contribution as a new appeal for help!
Please return to the message board and click on start a topic to begin your own thread if you need support.

Hi sabelo,
I think you're referring to my comment? I thought it was more useful having a reply to an existing topic than another new one for what could be the same issue...
Cheers

Hi MarkLC,
Same issue I presume, but some extra info.
I wanted to change the router IP and the DHCP pool to be 10.0.0.x (Router 10.0.0.1, pool 10.0.0.2-254). I also tried this with various other IP combinations such as 10.100.0.x and 172.16.0.x
If you do this, and manage to get round the "Invalid IP Address" errors that sometimes pop up, the router, goes, beserk!
The configuration GUI takes forever to load each page, if you get onto some pages (such as the DHCP page) it boots you straight back to the login page (Console states "Not logged in" despite just logging in), and sometimes those pages just wont load at all. The network speed is appalling (to the router and other network devices).
Looking in the Network tab in developer tools, when this is happening, the page is sending hundreds upon hundreds of requests to the router. You have to physically press and hold the reset button to fix this, even the "Reset" button in the GUI does not function.
My reasoning for changing the IP address initially is that I have some devices that are set on the 10.0.x.x range and I do not wish to reset them (the only way to get them to go back to DHCP without access to them - and wouldn't you know it. my notebook doesn't have an RJ45 port!).
Cheers

If you change the IP address of the router, it will log you off, as the router is no longer on 192.168.1.1. Can you now connect to it on 192.168.1.2?
I must ask, why are you trying to do this, it is perfectly normal to maybe change the IP network, but not what you are trying to do.
