My speed to the router was tested with TalkTalk and showed a constant speed of 41 but from the router to my computer only 6  Mbps. it`s wired from the router to my computer. So can someone tell me why and what can be done about it?

Morning,

 

I'm sorry to hear this. I've run a test on the line now which hasn't detected a fault and the sync speed looks consistent. Please can you try powering down the router for a full 30 minutes and then retest the speed again as this will reset the current session and can often increase the throughput speeds.

Hi @bluewell3 can't begin to tell you why, but have you

 

  1. Rebooted the router 
  2. Rebooted the computer
  3. Checked that all connections are secure
  4. Changed anything 
  5. How is WiFi working. 

Any consolation the pros will be back tomorrow and they'll get you sorted.
