I think I have a faulty router!

Hi,

I have the WiFi hub (sagemcom fast 5364)

I've had no internet connection since Wednesday around 6pm. It started off with only the wired connection to my desktop computer working. The WiFi wasnt working and the light on the router was solid white. I thought I'd best reset the router by unplugging for a few minutes and plugging back in. However ever since then it power cycles every 30 seconds by itself. Solid orange light for a second or 2, then a fast orange light blinking for about 30 seconds to then the light goes off then the loop begins again. It fails to get to the stage where it alternates between orange and white. I can't get on to the router homepage on my web browser and pressing the reset button with a pin for 30 seconds does nothing. Also tried leaving the router off for a day and switching back on. Still nothing. Live chat suggested there was an ongoing fault with my line that I wasn't aware of and 10 minutes later it was marked as resolved with "Your internet looks good" . I still don't have an internet connection and I don't know if I still have a line issue or not.

Please help!

Thanks a lot for your help KeithFrench 🙂 I've been going crazy trying to resolve the issue myself, trying different micro filters and cables and even trying another compatible 12v DC power supply with a higher amp rating to no avail (still same behaviour). Cheers!

Yes, it sounds like the router is faulty. I have asked one of TalkTalk's support team to pick up your thread and investigate it for you.

They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday), excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent, you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first.

The TalkTalk Community has now moved to a peer-to-peer support model. This means that the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - TalkTalk Help & Support
