Hi

No one can force you to take out a contract, but you really need to speak directly with O2  Virgin as we would not know what you are contractually obligated to.

Thanks

Karl.

Bought 2 Phones. My wife is on pay as you go as she has little use. I pay my mobile contract to TalkTalk in a Bundle with a landline and internet. I am happy with all this. But O2 said The new contract comes in a bundle so to cancel my TalkTalk contract. My question is what is wrong with staying with TalkTalk do I really have to take out this O2/Virgin contract?

So are you talking about a mobile phone contract then? Please can you explain exactly what you have signed up for?

Hi Keith  I only signed this contract on Friday so am still in the cooling off period. What I want to know is did I have to take out a new contract or will my TalkTalk contract carry on with the new phone?

Hi

You can call the number Keith has given.

I've checked your account and at present there are no cease requests raised.

Just to explain a little, we will normally see one of 2 types of order.  A cease order is placed when a customer calls in and requests to cancel themselves.  If another provider initiates this, then we see what is called an unsolicited cease order.

I've checked and no orders are there currently.

I would suggest contacting Virgin directly also and letting them know you do not want to go ahead with any install or take over of services,  or they may place this in the future.

If you do see any communication from TalkTalk saying we are sorry you are leaving, then get intouch asap so any cease orders can be rejected and closed.

Thanks

Karl.

It is very difficult for me to advise you, because you went to the 02 shop, where it seems that you have signed up for a new broadband package with Virgin. Not knowing any details about what you have done, whilst you could still stay with TalkTalk, you would have to cancel this Virgin contract,t if it is within a cooling off period.

Have I misunderstood what you have done?

Hi @MCD92W

I think that it sounds like you have taken up a contract with Virgin, if you want to stay with TalkTalk, you would need to cancel this if you are within any cooling off period. TalkTalk offers full fibre, but it does depend on what is on offer where you live, plus there is a TV package with a streaming box.

What are these messages that you refer to?

Hi Keith We have been to the O2 shop and bought 2 new phones. Whilst there they got me to sign a contract with Their partners Virgin. Ok for just a few pounds more I get Cable connection and a TV package.  But why can't we just stay with Talk Talk?

Hi @MCD92W

You can call in and speak to an agent, but as Keith says, if you can describe the issue you have, our Community can help. We have access to more knowledge and resource here, and when it comes to any kind of network or Wi-Fi related issues, there is no one better than Keith for his wealth of experience.
