Our full fibre broadband connection to 2 iPads and 2 iPhones is fully functioning. The problem we have is the connection to a PC which does not seem to be able to locate our wifi network. When searching for networks others (password locked) appear but not ours. We did not discover this for quite a while until we realised we’d not received replies to emails as the emails hadn’t been sent. The timing of this problem coincides with having Full Fibre 150 data only installed by TalkTalk. We have had conversations and attempts at a solution with engineers at TalkTalk but the problem persists

It is more likely, without having done any diagnostics, that WiFi interference is bad in the room where the PC is
How do the phones or tablets perform when near the PC?

Sorry I didn’t understand a lot of what you said - being rather aged. We have found the PC connection works if we use an Ethernet cable. We will contact TalkTalk again to see if a new router will solve the problem. Thanks for your help

Thank you for your reply. We are still not able to get wifi to our PC. We thought it was perhaps a fault with the PC so took it to my sister’s house where were able to connect to wifi through her network. As our other devices connect to our network without a problem we don’t really know what to do next. TalkTalk have suggested various solutions but so far none has worked.

Wi-Fi interference (nothing to do with electrical interference) can cause:-
This can affect one or more devices. This can also lead to a permanent reduction in the speed of one or more devices. No ISP can be responsible for your local environment; this is mainly a byproduct of the popularity of Wi-Fi.
However, other factors should be investigated first. When this happens, what are the lights showing on the front of the router? Do you have any wired connections & if so, how do they perform?
Generally speaking, the 2.4GHz band suffers far more from Wi-Fi interference than the much faster 5GHz band. However, the 2.4GHz band has a longer range than the 5GHz band and can penetrate walls better. This may very well change depending on your local area.
In other words, I offer a free, impartial analysis of your Wi-Fi network and will try to help you optimise your Wi-Fi connection. The next stage involves my sending out a guide to help you get important diagnostic information for me. I will then analyse these results for you and recommend changes to your router configuration, if required.
I only send this out to people who request it.
