New to TT, trying to WFH but router won’t allow connection

I’m new to talk talk and trying to work from home but the router grinds to a halt when I try to connect to the internet. I have to switch all other devices off to allow even a slow connection. My work IT help desk say they have had this issue with other colleagues who are on TT and that they have been advised to get a better router. Please can you help before the router gets launched out of the window!!!

Amazing, I’m now getting internet like it should be. It took a lot of getting there but it’s all good now. 🥳

Hi OurStitch22

How are you getting on, have you received the replacement router?

Thanks

Hi OurStitch22

The router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks

Hi OurStitch22

The Huawei WIFI hub also comes with an ethernet cable so you can connect wired.

Would you like me to send a Sagemcom WIFI hub?

No, absolutely not. The connection is rubbish either way. I’ve been advised that I need a different router, as it won’t allow an Ethernet cable either.

Hi OurStitch22

Thank you.

I can see that you are using a Huawei WIFI hub and this should work ok with VPN.

Is the connection ok when not using VPN?

Hi OurStitch22,

Can you please update your community profile to include your:

  • Name
  • Telephone number
  • Alternative contact number

We'll then look into this further. Please do not post this information on this thread. Once you've updated your profile please post in your topic to confirm it's updated.

Thanks

Chris

My IT help desk advise that I need a different router as they have encountered this problem with my other colleagues.

The router won’t allow a wired connection, it just doesn’t do anything, I’m having to use my mobile as a hotspot which is crazy when I’m paying for internet that’s not fit for purpose.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear this. Are you using a VPN when this happens? Are you connected wired or wireless?

Thanks
