No matter the time of day I attempt to watch anything or upload a video on YouTube, that is only several minutes in length, my speed is always absolutely chronic with your service. Other customers have been noticing the speed is unbearable too.
So, um, why is this happening? 😞
I used to tether with 4G via Giffgaff, but using mobile data rendered me throttled, and the whole point of getting broadband back was because of the lousy connection I have indoors with their goodybags or signal overall. But it is otherwise tolerable, so I don't understand why my wired connection is terrible.
I live in a flat in Edinburgh, on the second floor.

Hello, Debbie.
The replacement router arrived. However, the speed is basically the same.
I was interested in going with fibre, but when I try to do it on the site, it asks me to register when I already have signed up for the fast broadband. It just seems to like, loop the page, or I'm being asked to sign in again. Pretty confusing.

I assumed at first, that this was referring to my account number. You should be able to see it now. However, I don't have a phone for a landline service in place.

I had a feeling it is the router that's at fault here. But if TalkTalk receives criticism of their default router a lot from those who sign up, how come they don't just send out the more powerful one to begin with?
Why do people just have to learn this the hard way? 🙃

Had similar issue, and they sent me a different Router, to the Huawei one. Problem solved.
