I am having problems accessing plex. This seems to have started when the router firmware was updated on 17th Feb. I had a similar problem last year with a firmware update.
Router is a FAST5364 3.00 with firmware version SG4K100158.

The firewall had indeed been set to 'high'. I have reset this to 'medium' and can now access Plex.
I find the support from this community is excellent and normally solves problems that I have, I am disappointed though that firmware changes often introduce unforseen issues, could more checks be carried out before these changes are made to try and avoid this type of issue?.

Can you just check the firewall settings on the router? There have been recent reports of the update changing and/or corrupting this from the default of Medium to High. If yours is set to High try changing it to Medium and see if that solves the problem.

I have tried leaving it switched off for about 40 mins and there is no improvement.

OK thanks. Could you switch the router off and leave it off for at least 30 minutes then switch back on and retest. Please let us know if this resolves the issue

I can access the Plex website but when i try to load the media server, the connection just 'hangs' and does not respond. Firefox reports that the 'connection is not secure'. Everything works over mobile phone network but get these issues when using broadband.

What happens when you try to access plex? Do you get an error message?
