Our router (Huawei-HG635) drops out from thr internet occasionally. It seems to do it every 3-4 weeks or so. Restarting the router brings the internet back. Is this likely to be aproblem with the router?

There is not much point in trying to diagnose this problem with such an old router. I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and replace it for you. This may not solve the problem, but at least it is an initial step in the right direction.
They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday) excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first.
