Router changing channel

I have the Sagemcom as my main router with the older D-Link Model DSL-3782 connected by ethernet with DHCP turned off to provide roaming on the same SSID but different channels.

 

It works perfectly until:

1) the Sagemcom keeps changing channel often to the same channel as the D-link

2) the 5GHz channel reported on the D-link is not the channel it is broadcasting on when I check with a WiFi analyser.

 

To solve 1) I gather I need to have WiFi optimisation turned off.

 

Would that also affect the D-link router?

Ok, I've saved the settings again. Please can you retest and monitor the connection over the next 24hrs.

Thanks for getting back to me.

 

Just checked the Sagemcom router and it has switched on the 2.4GHz band overnight from channel 11 to channel 1. 

 

Not sure what to do now?

The WIFI optimisation is still showing as switched off.

Hi @Tim5230,

 

The support team here will be able to turn off Wi-Fi Optimisation on your Sagemcom when they are back tomorrow, I can't imagine that will have any effect on the D-Link channel though.
