Hi,
Today my connection has been up and down yet the router thinks it is connected.
Also, because of a firmware update stopping VPN's I was sent a 'newer' router as apparently my old one cannot take the new updates. I had to have the firmware downgraded to fix it last week.
Because of he issues today I went to swap the router only to discover it was a Sagemcom FAST 55364-3.T8 -- the exact same version as the apparently un-updatable, obsolete one I already have (in fact I have 2).
I was also told that plugging in the new one would automatically remove the block on firmware updates - which presumably would break the VPNs again given this model doesn't work with the latest version.
Should I just return the new one as it seems pointless swapping?

The router you have connected at the moment has the firmware with the fix for the reported VPN issue.
Please can you keep your current router and return the other router using the pre paid returns bag.
