My router is not displaying any white light. The connection is working but there is no indication light. It was working previously but now after rebooting, it flashes orange for a while then just nothing.

Hi Guys,

Yes, only on & off, which is why I mentioned it. As a software engineer myself, I know how easy it would be to add the option to dim an LED.

Again, thanks for all your help.

Hi @Chris-TalkTalk @Slayer1984

The only option is to turn it off, not dim it.

That's great Slayer, thanks for letting us know (I'm sure there was an option to dim the white light in the router UI)

New router connected and working 👍

Now have a bright white light.

Idea for next firmware update, add an option to dim it.

Thanks guys for all your help, you've been great. I'll return faulty router today.

Hi Debbie,

Yes, it has just been posted through my door. I will try to find time tonight to try it out if I can.

Thank you.

Hi @Slayer1984

I've ordered a replacement router and a returns bag for your current one. There will be no charge for this router.

Please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive. Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

Thanks

Hi Debbie,

Thanks for replying. Just to clarify, it does flash orange after power cycling  but then goes off and stays off. But the Internet connection is good.

If you think the router is faulty due to this, I am happy to receive a new one. I assume I would dispose of the faulty one, or return it? And would this all be free of charge?

Hi @Slayer1984

I'm sorry to hear this.

Are you happy for me to send a replacement router?

Hi Keith,

Thanks for ypur assistance. I managed to use the live chat to talk to an apparent technical support person. Clearly they have no technical knowledge at all. After half an hour of repeating the problem and getting nowhere, I gave up. The 'technician' kept talking about fuses and bulbs! Cripes, we're not in the 80's, I'm pretty sure these modern routers use LED's for the status indicator. He assured me it will sort itself out! Ha! Do bulbs and fuses sort themselves out! Anyway, I'll put up with a router without connection status LED. No big deal I guess. My main point to anyone, is, dont waste half you day talking to online chat reps that don't know what they're on about.
