Slow download speed

For quite a while now we have had problems with download speeds getting much slower, usually in the evenings.

When watching programs the screen freezes and the small circle spins round.

What is the reason?

Speed test shows the router receiving info at 43 Mbps but underneath it says 'as measured yesterday'. I would like to know how I can test real time router speed?I used the netflix function earlier today to check download speed on our smart TV - around 10, 11, and 13 Mdps.

The Tv has frozen at approx 8.30pm and netflix speed was only 2 Mbps

This seems to affect Apple TV most, but also Amazon Prime and others.

Could this be some neighbours streaming huge amounts of information?

Until a few weeks ago this had never been a problem.

Any thoughts anyone?

I'm sorry to hear this.

 

The line test hasn't detected any faults.

 

Does the speed also drop on wired connections?
