Yesterday and today, the broadband was briefly cut off. I was able to reconnect my computers and phone but not my TV. I have been in touch with LG, who suggests the problem is with Talktalk, not the TV. I have gone to settings and typed in the password several times, but it won't connect. Restarting did not help. The error message is an unknown issue. The TV is an LG 43UM7500PLA.

I'm sorry to hear this.
Can I just check, do you usually have to split the SSIDS and connect the TV on 2ghz or 5ghz? My own TV will only connect on 2ghz.
