I was sent a new router, was asked to send old one back, but no return back was in with packaging

Just make sure that your community profile details are completed, @Alahousat, and staff will then be able to send one to the address associated with your account.
Add your Talktalk phone number or account number by going via your avatar; settings; drop down menu....Personal Information. Scroll down to find SAVE CHANGES.
Staff will respond during the day.
