Delay in some emails being received

In the past week I've noticed that some of the emails that I receive are delayed. For example, one sender sent an email to me & my brother at 10.44 this morning. My brother received the email at 10.44, but I didn't get it until 12.06. Why is this happening? Thank you

Hi @cnps98 

 

There's a problem with email. The incident is being worked on and you can track it on the  Service Status (Email) page. 

 

I reported the problem on 17th March. I thought TalkTalk had got around to fixing the mailbox access fault / delayed delivery issue on 20th but it seems that the root cause has not been properly identified. My personal diagnosis is that the mailbox server that stores email content has got corrupted data and hence that's slowing everything down that requires mailbox access.
