Ask us about your TalkTalk email account and Webmail.
Monday
I've recently left TalkTalk and would like my old email accounts (all four of them) to be deleted. I cannot do it myself and asked Customer Services to do it for me. However, I don't have any real failth they have done it because they haven't sent an confirmatory email to me (that they had promised) stating that the deletions had been done.
I no longer use these accounts and the only emails being sent to them are spam.
Please would you ensure that all four email accounts are deleted so that I am not charged for them in the future?
Thanks

People often need access for reference back to old emails, @zicoian, so by default webmail should work for c 6 months.
You'd get an email alert ahead of its deletion.
You won't automatically get signed up for Mail Plus, as it's something that you have to specifically register for after leaving and would have its own billing cycle:

There are too many essential forms needed for this to set itself up by accident. There's even a choice between a monthly or an annual payment, so that level of detail would need to have been completed.

Hi @Ady-TalkTalk,
Thanks for the confirmation.
Do you know how many months it takes for the email addresses to cease to function? I don't see why they can't just be deleted, as was once allowed.
Please would you confirm in writing on this thread that I will never be charged for Mailplus in future due to some mistake by TalkTalk? I just want to tie off all loose threads before leaving for good.
Thanks in advance.

@zicoian, if you don't use the webmail access and haven't paid for Mailplus, the email addresses will cease to function anyway after some months.
But you can ask for the "right to be forgotten".
