E-mail scam about leaving TalkTalk?

Hello

I have had a several emails in the last few days concerning me leaving TalkTalk. I have also received a call on my home land line (which has nothing to do with TalkTalk) as well from 0345 1720088.

Does anyone know if this is a current scam or not? I have, as usual, not replied to anything but have changed my account password.

Thanks

I am told that I have received these messages in error because TalkTalk are migrating older accounts to newer ones. And mine is an old account!

The cancellation request received is itself being cancelled.

I will keep an eye on this though.

I think you should call the number mentioned in the email and tell TalkTalk that you do not wish this to go ahead.

@Mandisa-TT : I have received various email supposedly from TalkTalk but had assumed them to be part of a scam.

I can confirm that:

  1. No letter was sent by me to you to terminate my account.
  2. I have not been in touch with any other ISP.

Hi @Martin84 I’ve accessed your account, and I can confirm that we sent you an email and a letter notifying you that we received an unsolicited cease letter submitted on your behalf regarding a new provider taking over your services on 16.11.2025. This cease request was placed on 14.10.2025. Have you recently spoken to any other provider?
