Not for the first time my emails will not send via my OE Classic client but will still send from the TT webmail portal. This is a big inconvenience last experienced I think in November and know from this that it is not the fault of OE Classic.

I know other people are also experiencing this problem from time to time and will add in below the comments made by Roy Harrison with which I fully concur. Don't know if it has anything to do with it that like Roy I am receiving masses of scam emails which I then forward (when I can...) to report@phishing.gov.uk . He finished his comments with "Please can Talk talk advise? However, there is no response I can see from TT yet his post is marked as being resolved!

Please Talk Talk - do something for once and for all to correct this annoying problem. I welcome your response asap please.

I run a Thunderbird email client on a Windows desktop and have been doing so for many years. Recently I have had trouble forwarding emails using this as some get rejected by the talk talk outgoing server with an error message: "Reject for policy reasons". It has appeared the in the last couple of months or so, something has changed on the outgoing mail server that has become more strict in its validation of emails.

I can understand the blocking of some emails, although it's still frustrating, as some are spam that I am trying to forward to report@phishing.gov.uk which is the UK National Cyber Security Centre.

However, I recently attempted to forward an email I had created that was originally a simple textual email and the email client outgoing server rejected this. However, when I tried to forward it from the web mail, it worked. So, there is something perhaps too strict about the outgoing server for Windows clients compared to web mail. It seems weird, but that's my experience. Please can talk talk advise?

Yes I did try a different browser. Today new emails to report@phishing.gov.uk sent OK from webmail and yesterdays had gone too presumably sometime in the evening.

However, the problem remains within OE Classic, with the error highlighted red in the log being:

< 550 5.7.1 Reject for policy reason
An error occurred. - Error in response to the DATA command. SendMail (failed). C: .; R: 550 5.7.1 Reject for policy reason

I would stress that this cannot be an OE Classic error - indeed it wasn't last time - as other people using different email clients have experienced same problem.

Settings are as they should be.  Now found that I also cannot send an email to report@phishing.gov.uk from within the webmail portal. Instead I receive the message 'An error occurred inside the server which prevented it from fulfilling the request.' . Clearly as I said before the problem is with TalkTalk. Are the IT team onto this now?

Hi there @ArkRoyal, please use webmail for the time being as it's clear the issue happens when you are using your client mail. Please just check your settings in the meantime to make sure everything is as it should be. Thanks
