My e-mail is linked to a deactivated talk talk account and I have had a message saying I either pay £5 a month or loose access to it. My partner has a talktalk account and we want to link my email to that. I have spent the last 2 weeks being passed from pillar to post by customer services as nobody seems to know how to do this and sort it  out. Nobody seems to know how to unlink it.

There's an ongoing issue for sending emails from those addresses that were associated with the old accounts.

It seems to be taking a lot longer to process them, to be able to continue sending, so people are stuck for the time being - I'd recommend setting up/using an alternative, free email, like yahoo / Gmail etc meantime to reply to anything important and inform people of the difficulties.

At least messages are still coming in, @Dobbo6, and if you reply from an alternative address you will start building up a contact list there too.

However, the added complication is that the email address in question was never associated with the actual account holder's account that you are trying to move it to.

An account has always been able to contain up to 5 addresses, but they would need to have been under one account holder's name originally.

Simply adopting one into another customer's account may be an added complication.

Putting the email in private notes does not fix it, but gives Staff the details to save you and them time.

Staff are back tomorrow

The account holder has contacted you. This chat is the account holders details as my partners email address is linked to an inactive account it wouldn't let her sign up with her own details so she had to use mine. I have posted the request as someone else mentioned with the email to be linked in the private details section but that hasn't worked either

I have called the number you have given and it has been no use what so ever. I have spoken to them and rhe account holder has spoken to them and we are no further forward  the emails have not been linked and I cannot send emails. The last person kept going on about a form that needed filling in regarding an e-mail incorrectly classified as not on a current account. Nobody seemed to understand what we were saying about being entitled to 5 free emails on our broadband subscription. The whole thing is a shambles we have been at this 3 weeks and have spent around 7 hours on the phone being passed from one person to another because nobody wants to or seems capable of sorting it

@Dobbo6 please just stick with this thread.

Put significant account information and the email addresses to be connected with it in Private Notes, if you want them associated with your active account.

If you want the addresses linked with your partner's account, they will need to post a topic in their own right.
