Ask us about your TalkTalk email account and Webmail.

On 5 September I agreed to upgrade from Fibre 65 to Fast Fibre 150 and the installation was completed on 22 September. Since 5 September I cannot send or receive Gmail and random emails from other legitimate emails addresses keep appearing in spam for no reason. All other, ie none Gmail emails work normally. I do not get an undeliverable message and neither does the person sending emails to me. They just disappear into the ether.
I also have a Gmail account which is set to forward emails received to my TalkTalk account and strangely this is working. I can also send emails from my TalkTalk account to my Gmail account and vice versa. Odd.
I use Outlook on all my devices and the IMAP settings are correct. In fact the devices are irrelevant as the problems are exactly the same when I use the TalkTalk Mail webpage. I have also tried other browsers than Chrome, which is my usual browser.
I contacted TalkTalk support who were frankly useless as I knew more about the technical issues than the person with whom I was speaking. Can anyone here help me please?

Unfortunately I have spoken with 3 advisers, plus 2 via the chat line and all with the same outcome. Thanks for the suggestion in any event.

Try the number again as you are likely to get a different adviser.

Thank but the telephone number is just the usual one I have tried before . There does not seem to be any way to speak to someone with true technical expertise. Instead I just get fobbed off by an "adviser" saying that if I can receive emails from non Gmail senders then it must be a Gmail fault but I know that is not so.

If the upgrade was to Full Fibre, the forum staff won't be able to help, @Steven Hinchliffe.
Ring 03451 720074 (closes 6pm Saturday; closed all Sunday), or discuss this further with the Full Fibre team via Chat.... even though it's an email issue, anything to do with FTTP gets put through to that team.
