Ask us about your TalkTalk email account and Webmail.

I know this has been asked before but I want to turn off the over active spam filters in the Talk Talk email service.
We rely on Pop3 / Imap to collect our email, via Outlook, which has a decent spam filter. On checking the families accounts we have via webmail I've discovered that some valid messages have been going to the webmail spam folder so we never see them.
I've checked all settings but I don't see any option to change the spam filter settings or turn it off. All you can do is add addresses to the whitelist via the webmail client, a total pain.
I'd prefer for all our messages, including spam, to come to our email clients and let us control the spam filtering but I'm NOT happy for some to be hidden before we choose what to do with them.
PLEASE can it be sorted so the user can manage the spam filtering?

Hi,
I've just replied on two other threads on this. Seems lots of people are having this problem. Our accounts have been suffering from at least Jan to our knowledge. Is a solution being worked on? At the very least, the agressive/random nature of the spamming algorithm needs a good look at. Better still we'd like the ability to disable it.

What I'm saying is that we are investigating this and ask you to be a bit more patient while we work on this please. Thanks

OK, @siphosethu-TT
You've now admitted that you don't have a resolution of the issue.
What, if anything has been done?
Has anyone who might be more knowledgeable been advised?
If so, who are these people?
Can you give me a contact so that I might talk to them directly?

Please note that we are currently looking into this, this is not the resolution but precaution as we don't have a resolution as yet. Thanks

Hi, @siphosethu-TT
How could 'allowlisting' yourbill @ billing.talktalk.co.uk , stop other emails going to @JohnR12 's spam folder?
It would stop only 'yourbill @ billing.talktalk.co.uk'

Hi there @JohnR12, add our email address yourbill@billing.talktalk.co.uk to your contacts or safe senders list - this will stop any emails going to your spam or junk folder. Thanks

I fully agree with you.
But Outlook is not innocent either.

Hi Bill,
That may be the case but the fact is that the new email system has, in my opinion, a over active spam filtering system that even blocks emails from other family member with @talktalk.net email address when the send to me. I have added them to my whitelist but there are many others that get blocked and I don't want to have to sign into the webmail system and add them as well. I would either like to have control of the severity level of spam filtering or be able to turn it off, not to much to ask.

Hi, @JohnR12
It seems that Outlook itself, is not doing a proper job as well.
Why doesn't Outlook check the Spam folder as well as the Inbox folder, when it downloads your new emails?
Then you would be able to see them in your Spam folder, without having to use TalkTalk webmail.

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your concerns with the spam filtering settings in your TalkTalk email service. I understand how important it is for you to have full control over your email, especially when valid messages are being misclassified as spam. Please give me a moment to check into this for you.
