Hi

Today 15/09/25 found that my emails are not being delivered either via Thunderbird or directly from web mail site, however I seem to be receiving mail ok.

I have rebooted router, checked server settings all correct also tried from our other computer.

I would be grateful if this problem could be fixed.

I have since noticed others on the forum who also cannot send emails. I never received any info from TT regarding linking email address to account number. Anyway I have added my account number to my profile, and email address in private notes so would be grateful if I could return to sending emails.

A long term TT customer.

Regards

@fedman11 Thank you so much for confirming the issue is not a TalkTalk problem and was only affecting thunderbird which has now been resolved.

Thank you for the support @fr8ys

Hi fr8ys

Re the lack of gmail emails I noted a comment of yours to another poster to check their Spam folder.

Until now I have never had this problem, so for the past week or so that is where they have been going.

Thanks again for your help in finding my problem, but I still cannot think what has changed.

Best regards

Thanks for confirming.

Hi Mandisa-TT

I must apologise for my new post late friday regarding the return of email sending problem.

My further investigation proved it not to be a TT problem, and only affecting Thunderbird which is now fixed.

So please ignore my last post in the thread locked by fr8ys on Friday 19/9.

Once again I can confirm all is working fine for me, other than the problem regarding gmails as mentioned in message 52 above.

Very best regards and thank you all again.

Hi

Doing a few checks of my own.

Speaking to a friend also a talktalk broadband customer, and who also has a gmail account. I asked him to try sending an email from his TT address to his gmail address and also to my gmail address. The result was that neither emails were delivered and with no error messages. He like me can send emails from his talktalk.net account to other address's normally.

Now I know this is only two customers affected but I think you will agree it seems odd.

Maybe your tech people can throw some light on what the problem might be.

Regards

Yes I had around 300meg of stored messages at web mail, after clearing it is now only around 160meg.

Sadly still not receiving gmails from my talktalk address

@fedman11, just checking to see if you have managed to clear out all non-essential items.

Thank for that info Gliwmaeden2.

I will have a "clear out" of non essential stored items, but think that may not be the reason for our present gmail problem.

It's not really relevant to sending anyway, @fedman11, as the emails would still send if your quota were full, just not store in the "sent" box.

Thank you for your reply with details of storage limit.

If I was at that limit I don't understand why emails to other address's are still being sent normally. i.e to BT & zen accounts.

All webmail has storage limits, @fedman11, whether Talktalk,  Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail etc.

It's for the total amount of stuff, so sent messages, folders storing emails by subject, inbox, Spam, recycle bin... the lot has a limit of 10GB with Talktalk.

@siphosethu-TT, it's not just outgoing. Though individual emails also have a limit to the size that can be sent.

Sorry but I didn't know of a mail quota, is this for incoming or outgoing?

Do you mean my gmail quota, I think not as I am receiving gmails from other people

Just thought I would sum up where I think we are now

Incoming TT emails are, and always have been working normally

Outgoing TT emails (other than to gmail) now seem to be working normally as far as I can tell.

Outgoing TT emails to gmail address's do not arrive to either of our gmail address's  but give no error messages.

Both of our gmail address's are receiving messages, other than from our talktalk address

I have updated my profile and added my TT email address in "private notes"

Best regards, and thanks to both Mandisa-TT and siphosethu-TT for your assistance

Not sure I understand this I only want TT messages addressed to our gmail addresses going to gmail

If I select Auto forward then it looks like all TT mail will be sent to gmail ? This I don't want

It's the outgoing TT messages that are not getting to gmail
