emails disappearing after reading

I have a recent problem in that after I read emails in my "inbox", they will disappear in a search time, but can be viewed by using the search function.

I have now having to move them straight after reading to the archive file

Any suggestions on how to stop them disappearing?

Yes, and where is the email retrieved from? When you carry out a search of all folders, the default is All folders, and the results appear there will be a grey box to the right of the message summary in the List view showing you which folder the email is in?

If this is the Inbox, do you need guidance on changing the Message options?

I did send a reply to your message when that appeared in my inbox, but now that has gone from the inbox, but was retrieved using the search and then moved to Archive, (which I am using as a stop gap measure for now.

To repeat, once a message is read and I go out of the inbox, the message moves somewhere else and can be retrieved using the search option.

Your description suggests that you are showing at the top of the List view the Unread emails. This means that when you view an email it is marked as read.  When the display is refreshed that email is no longer shown in the Inbox at the top of the list but is still there in the Inbox displayed somewhere below the Unread emails. I'm assuming when you search for and find the emails they are shown as still in the Inbox?

Do you need guidance on changing the Message options?
