My old iMac has died and the transfer of files was not complete
I would like to find my old emails which were in pop3
Are they still on my mail server, somewhere ?
or, Are they on my failed computer HDD and have been deleted from the webmail site?
(as I have not changed email address or from talktalk since opening an account)
The only thing I changed was pop3 to imap when changing to a new computer
Thanks in advance

Depends how you'd set up the POP3 email account on the iMac and whether you were making backup copies.
If the POP3 email account that was set up to collect emails on the iMac was downloading and deleting from the online server then messages would be in the email account only on the iMac and therefore on the HDD or on a local backup drive if you happened to be making backups.
If the POP3 email account that was set up to collect emails on the iMac was downloading but set to never delete from the server then messages would be in the online mailbox Inbox and therefore viewable by the newly set up IMAP email account on the newer computer. If you'd moved wanted messages to a My Folder that you'd created in the online mailbox then look there or if you'd Archived wanted messages then you may find older messages in year by year sub-folders under the virtual Archive folder.
