Email with Attachments Error Message

I hope I'm posting this in the right category.  

 

I've been trying to send an email with a few quite large attachments without any success.  Thinking size might be a problem, I started to send them individually.  Two small attachments went across without any problem.

 

However, the email with the next attachment (eight pages) didn't go and returned this error message:

 

"An error occurred inside the server which prevented it from fulfilling the request."

 

Please can someone help?

Or print off, sign and send back using snailmail, @Happy_Badger.

 

A "wet signature" is often preferred in legal documents as a mark of authenticity.

Thank you for the link.  I'll carry on the good fight in the morning.

 

The documents are Law Society forms which I need to complete and return.  Filling them in was a doddle compared to trying to send them back.🙄

What kind of attachments? In my experience, most business documents are sent as PDF files which have the advantage of being tiny e.g. when I take out a new insurance policy, or suchlike.

No idea, but most personal email addresses are limited to 25mb including Gmail and Outlook (Hotmail).

Ah, thank you.  I'll use that instead.

 

One thing that does puzzle me is these hefty documents came across in a single email with 15 attachments in all.  Is that because it's a business which probably pays a lot more to its service provider than I pay Talktalk?

Yes. It works similar to Dropbox. You load the files up and create a link which you send or is sent on your behalf.

 

It's the document size that's the issue. I'm pretty sure it's 25mb.

Thank you for your replies. 

 

My provider is Talktalk and the help pages/faqs didn't really enlighten me.

 

The documents are in PDF format - one is 27mb and the other 55mb, which is probably the problem.

 

Has anyone had experience of using We Transfer?

What size is the attachment and in what format?

 

Have you tried saving the file as a pdf and sending?

 

If this isn't feasible if the recipient needs to amend it, have you tried zipping the file to reduce the size?

 

25mb or more can cause issues when sending and a word document with graphics / photos often increases the size dramatically.

 

Try the above and hopefully it will work. I'm sure too a Google search will give other tips.

 

You could also try storing it online in say Dropbox and then create a link to the file to send by email for the recipient to download.

Almost certainly. You don't mention which email service you are using, but most restrict attachment sizes. Look up your email provider's help pages/faqs for more details.
