So every time it rains, without fail, my internet will drop, and then will take 5 to 10 minutes to reconnect. It will stay stable until it stops and starts raining again in which the connection will drop again. This has been an issue for quite a while now.
I have found online a few people have had this same problem, and the consensus over on the BT forums is that the likely culprit is corroded line joint which is broken when it rains.

The engineer replaced my phone line. He said it was brittle and old and was mostly crumbling away. I'm optimistic that the problem is resolved and no more disconnects when it rains, but will need to wait until it rains.

Yes, the light goes orange on the hub when it drops, and it will flash orange until the connections comes back up.

Seems to be quite consistent when it rains. But only at the onset of rain then it's fine during the rain. I ran a line test immediately after a disconnect from the rain, and it claimed to have a found a fault, then ran another longer line test, by which time the line was stable again as the rain had continued, and the internet had came back up.

I've run a few tests on the line now which hasn't detected a fault and I can see 1 re-connection on the line. Would you say that the connection was dropping more often than this?

It rained again today and the internet dropped, as soon as I got back online I ran the line test and it detected a fault.

Tests report that my line is still fine, will probably need to wait until it rains next time to try again. Though, the house I'm in is over 100 years old, and I'm not sure how old the phone line is also. Frustrating problem.

I've never tested the phone or any line tests during the rain when it drops. As I normally wait it out. I'm expecting some rain later on tonight, so I can run some tests then. .

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing problems with your service. Line test is passing but I can see that there have been some disconnections. Do you experience any problems with your telephone service when it's been raining, any noise on the line?
