New Shell Modem/Router -no internet light

I'm an old Post Office customer who was migrated to Shell, then to TalkTalk. My old Post Office branded modem gave up the ghost so i requested a new one. Today a new modem arrived, in a Shell box with Shell livery on the modem. Putting aside using the old owner's branding (truly bizarre, if not illegal?) my main issue is the fact that I now have no internet. The Internet light has never come on. Has my service been cancelled?
