I won't bore you with the problems but basically my WiFi extender keeps being disconnected from the router. I read on here a discussion regarding the firmware version of the router and use of WiFi extenders.
How do I find out the version and/or how does it get updated if found necessary?
Many thanks.

Anything that uses WiFi is subject to WiFi interference, especially in the older 2.4GHz band. That is the only band that the N300 operates in from what I can see. Although an internet search pulls up various different model numbers, but they seem to only offer 300Mbps maximum speed. The Sagemcom FAST 266 is a WiFi 6 product that currently operates up to 1201Mbps in the 5GHz band and about 574Mbps in the 2.4GHz band.
I don't know where a list price is published, the loyalty department usually will offer it at a discount price, as I keep saying you might be best to ask the TalkTalk staff on this forum.
Still, the choice is yours.

Thanks for this.
My Netgear connects back to the router by WiFi.
I've looked up the price of the alternative you suggest and it's not justified at the moment.
I spent all day yesterday trying to get it going by reconfiguring everything only to find that a router reboot fixed it.
So I'm happy to live with that short term.
I'm in the process of considering upgrading to full fibre. When that's done I'll see how it stands reliability wise.
Meanwhile many thanks.

How does your Netgear connect back to the router, via power line adapters, Ethernet cable or WiFi?
The FAST 266 works on the WiFi side of the Sagemcom routers (5364 & 5464) and will therefore work on any broadband technology that the Sagemcom does (anything from ADSL through FTTC to full fibre). I use one all the time with my FAST5464, which is running on full-fibre. As to the price, I cannot answer that. You either ask TalkTalk on here or you ring the loyalty Dept on 0345 1725157 or 0330 1278960.

Many thanks for the response.
Obviously I may be wrong, but I'm ruling out interference as nothing has changed on what has been a reliable setup.
Additionally all my main systems (eg writing this response!), Alexa connections etc have remained stable.
It's just items hanging off the extender and its link back to the router.
So two questions is the 266 forward compatible to full fibre and how much is it. Not keen to spend a fortune.
Many thanks.

Hi @des09
That extender is old (just 2.4GHz band I would think by the name of it). There is a much better approach which is to turn the Sagemcom router into a mesh network with a Sagemcom FAST266 Wi-Fi Booster. This will give you not only Ethernet, but also dual-band Wi-Fi 6 capabilities on the 266.
I doubt very much if your instability is caused by the router's firmware, but WiFi interference between the two, or a faulty router/extender. I can help a lot with WiFi interference if required. There is a new firmware version (V202) due to be rolling out to your router when it is put on general release possibly next month.
If you want to consider a 266, then ask the TalkTalk support staff on this forum in a reply.

The router is a Sagecom, not sure of model, but obviously TT issue.
The WiFi extender is a Netgear N300
They've both run together for many years but the router is probably 2 to 3 years old.
I only need the Netgear to provide an ethernet link for the TT TV box. Again that's been working for ages.
First noticed that the TT box had lost internet.
I then couldn't pair it back to the router.
Finally sorted by rebooting router. But has again gone down.
All other connections throughout the house have not failed at all.
I've ordered a new extender but not convinced that is the problem,
although frankly I hope it is.

What make/model of router & extender are you using?
