Router won't connect

Hi,

 

This morning my router won't connect. It just keeps flashing orange.

 

I tried plugging my laptop into the router via a ethernet cable, but that won't even load the router dashboard on the 192.168.1.1 address.

 

The talk talk login page doesn't load (currently using a phone hotspot).

 

I can't see any service status saying there's an issue, but your website won't load the login page.

 

The router is currently on. Can someone run a line test please?

 

Openreach was over the road yesterday, so hope they've not caused a problem when messing about with cables.

The replacement router is on its way, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

 

Let us know how the connection compares with this router.

We have a Mastersocket 5C MK4.

 

I've taken the faceplate off and connected the router directly into it, but still no connection.

 

I've pushed the reset button on the router, and still no not.

 

I was unable to find the old router to test.

Ok thanks for confirming and please let us know how you get on with the alternative router. Does your main socket also have a test socket?

We don't have a phone/phoneline plugged in to try/test.

 

We may have an old router, I'll give that a try

Morning,

 

Thanks for your post and I'm sorry to hear this. I've run a test on the line now which is clear but the line is not showing in sync. Is the voice service ok and do you have a dial tone? Does your main socket have a test socket? Do you also have an alternative router that you could test with please?
