Static on the phone line

Hi,

 

I have contacted TT on FB about static on the phone line. It's making phone calls almost impossible, due to the excess noise. Also, it is affecting the Internet speed.  It should be 37.5 Mbps, and it is less than 10 Mbps now.  I replaced the phone extension cable with a brand new one.  I largely suspect the problem is external.  I am not sure what else to do at this point.

I'm sorry to hear this.

 

I've completed a line test and this has detected a potential fault. 

 

Would it be possible to connect the router at the test socket so I can run another line test in this set up?
