This is getting stupid. Internet down YET AGAIN

I'm starting to get really annoyed with the service. I've had 2 engineers and numerous remote fixes. I'm losing internet at least once a month most times weekly. The last engineer stated that the copper wiring from exchange to home needs replacing due to corrosion. Yet again today internet totally down. I've been really tolerant towards talk talk but it just seems everything is a quick fix rather than looking at the bigger problem. I know the Devs are off at the weekends but Monday I really need to talk with them about getting my line properly fixed once and for all. Anyway rant over. Have a great weekend all .

 

P.S yes I've unplugged router etc. So please don't hit me that little gem 🙄

LOL, I wouldn't dare!  Have a good weekend yourself. Whatever your broadband delivers the sun will still be shining, hopefully.  😎

Thanks for the reply Ferguson. Sadly no full fibre available. The infrastructure is there as the property was built in 2018 and there are a few property's with it. I know copper is going to corrode as it's been laid for years. 

 

The most annoying part of this all is the fact that it's an ongoing problem that even the engineer said it was likely to happen until they(openreach) sort out the wiring from exchange to home. 

If it had been a one off I'd have put it down to one of those things but as this is happening monthly/weekly it should just be sorted properly. 

 

Anyway again thanks for the reply and a bigger thanks for not saying "have you unplugged your router". Think that would have sent me over the edge.

The copper network is not only flaky, but unlikely to be upgraded whilst the push for Full Fibre goes on. Is the latter not an option where you are?

 

Otherwise I can only convey my sympathies and wait, like yourself, to see what the support team can do when they are back online next week.
