For the past week my main computer in the house has been unable to connect to the internet, my iPad and iPhones work with no problems connecting straight away my windows laptop also worked without any problems.

Today I switched on my windows laptop and it worked perfectly well. This afternoon I was asked to update it. This I duly did and it now it will not connect to the internet, when I run the troubleshoot  program it tells me - 1) The wireless capability is turned off - it is not, 2) A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken - as the pc has wireless connection option 2 is not considered.

The laptop was working perfectly this morning and has only developed the problem since carrying out the upgrade.

As only the windows PCs are affected could you offer any advice as to how to rectify the issues.

Hello,

Can you please update your community profile to include your:

  • Name
  • Telephone number or Account number
  • Alternative contact number

We'll then look into this further. Please do not post this information on this thread. Once you've updated your profile please post in your topic to confirm it's updated.

Thanks

Michelle

@Foxterror

It's best to start your own topic,. Has this coincided with the same Windows update mentioned earlier?

I got the same problem since yesterday. Can't get a proper reply by chat: I m assured the issue is being sorted, but nothing. Could breakage be caused by frost, 5G launch, or not using Talktalk router? Either the fault is widespread and Talktalk are overwhelmed, or their service has become really dire. I was told to turn off router for at least 20 minutes. It did not work for me, but you could try...

Can you roll back the Windows upgrade to see if that is where the issue has started?
