Hi,

I have been unable to connect to my work's VPN since Friday. I have been back and forth with my work IT staff but as it works on mobile hotspot but not my network we''re wondering if anything has changed on the ISP side.

Thanks

Hi @llundin

I am running the same eeroOS version on an eero 6 and can use Proton VPN via either Wireguard or OpenVPN without a problem.

Thanks Keith,

I am running an Eero Pro 6 running v7.10.2-34

I am using Tunnelblick to connect, though I have also tried OpenVPN-Connect with no success

Hi @llundin @mandisa1-TT

I extensively test as many  VPN clients with every new release of firmware. So as I can help you, please can you tell me what make/model of router that you have and which firmware version is it running?

Please can you also tell me what VPN client are you using?

The information below is provided by TalkTalk. For confirmation, please contact @Lorrainef, the manager of the TalkTalk support staff on this forum.

KeithFrench is one of our valued Community Stars and can help with a range of issues related to wireless and networking. At times, he may ask you to send him test results via a Private Message to help analyse/diagnose an issue. Although Keith does not work for TalkTalk, he very kindly shares his time and knowledge to help others.

If you need further help or if we need to take any details such as personal information about your account, like phone numbers, account numbers, etc, one of the TalkTalk team will jump in and help out.

Hi,

as mentioned in the original post, I have already been in contact with my IT departement. They have asked me to contact you to check if any changes have occured that may block this

We have seen other threads like https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Fibre/Work-VPN-not-working/td-p/3065330?_gl=1*1mjcfp5*_up*MQ..*_... that seem to imply others have recently had the same kind of issue and had someone help them

If you are having any issues connecting to the VPN  then in the first instance it's worth talking to your I.T. department, as we do not stop access to VPNs.

1. The issue persists with wired connection
2. N/A
3. I don't know what that means in regards to my setup, there is no phone socket, and no additional ports in the wallbox for me to connect my router too

4. I've already reset my router but it has not helped

All other internet connection works, I just cannot access my work vpn

Hi there @llundin Kindly try the following steps.

  1. If you’re using Wi-Fi, try connecting your device directly to your router using an Ethernet cable
  2. If it works on a wired connection and not wirelessly it's worth splitting the SSID and re-test
  3. If not already try your router in the main phone socket
  4. Factory reset your router see our helpful guide Restore your router to factory settings
