Talk talk router had died, I have a TP link archer a7, but unable to get it to connect. I have tried PPoE and dynamic up in the setting on the WAN port, set the vlan id to 101 and still no joy. Any help would be really appreciated

@Carolinebiscuits, just checking to see if you have managed to get in touch with our Full Fibre team regarding the router issue.

The problem could well be that with CityFibre a particular profile must be set by the Full Fibre Helpdesk before it has any chance of connecting. I do not know which profile needs to be selected for a 3rd party router, maybe "T", but that is just a guess.
If the TalkTalk router is dead, it can be replaced, again, probably from the FF Helpdesk.

City fibre, I think it’s the cable that came with it. I have tried a cat6 and still no joy. I can see packets going out but nothing coming back. Just tried another router with openwrt and still no joy. All four lights are on the ONT

I wouldn't have thought so. I take it you have connected the WAN port to the ONT by an ethernet cable of at least Cat5e standard? Dynamic IP should do it. Just to check: do you have an Openreach, or City Fibre connection?

Thanks, that’s what I have been trying. Could the router be too old?

Have you seen these instructions?

Bear in mind that all fibre, fttc and fttp are fibre settings. This often catches people out who are on fttc packages.
