FF500

I had a FF500 installed this morning. The engineer installed the fibre and stated the rest is for Talk Talk to deal. Although I have WiFi other devices do not work as the engineer stated I should have been provided with SPLITTER.  My cameras don't work as there is nowhere to plug on the new eero router. The old router is still plugged in. Do I take that off? Digital Voice Adapter provided but engineer stated it is nothing to do with him. Should  I just  leave this in the packet. I was promised at the time of ordering that the Engineer will fix everything for me.

Can't get through on the phone. Spent two long calls waiting.

Anyone face similar problems and any advice?

@Diljit

Both the old TalkTalk Hub router and the new Eero router will work. One or the other.

As you now have FF500, TalkTalk expects you to disconnect the old router, then connect the new Eero router at the ONT box.

After you receive the 5-port switch,  connect the unused port of the Eero, to one of the switch's ports.

Then connect your already received Digital Voice Adapter, to another of the switch's ports.

And then start all the equipment up.

OK, I was more thinking of the router before the upgrade? And your copper phoneline is still working at the moment? Do you not have the eero Pro 6 as part of the FF500 package? Sorry for all the questions, just want to be clear!

I should have asked, which router do you have presently?

If you are going to use the eero you need to connect the DVA to that and then your phone will plug in to the DVA, installation details are included in the box and also available here on the website.

Thank you. I think I'll buy this. Still can't speak to Talk Talk on the phone. Promised me a lot but not delivered.

Anyone know whether my telephone will still work with the old setup or do I need to plug in the Digital Voice Adapter?

Ethernet switches  all do the same job (see diagram below) the one below definitely has been discussed in the forum before -

Buy TP-Link 5 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch | Network switches | Argos

About this product
With 5 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, TL-SG105 expands your network capacity, enabling instant large files transferring.

The TL-SG105 can automatically detect the link status of each port and reduce the power consumption of idle ports.

Designed to save up to 65 percent of power consumption.

The TL-SG105 also can analyzes the length of the Ethernet cable connected and adjusts the power usage accordingly.

If you want to use the eero you will need to buy a switch (splitter) like the one in the video below as  you have discovered there is only one spare ethernet port on the eero.

Review and set up guide -

As far as i know  TT do not provide  splitters (switches) but they can be bought for as little as £10.

Do you have enough ethernet ports If you use the old router?
