"And the assistant who helped you,, sent you the above automatic message yesterday at 1:43 PM, and included in the message was the following snippet: "Great news you already have the right WIFI Hub for full fibre".

I believe that is a lazy and false statement"

I couldn't agree more Billx you would think with the bad reputation phone support and to a lesser degree online chat has that the staff would at least know the basics how can anyone in a "Support" role not know something so basic?

@Mrobjoo, I have removed the displayed image of your router and password  - should you ever need to reset your router to factory settings, that password will again take over from what you made up.

It's bad practice to ever display such information in the public thread.

Hi, @Mrobjoo

So, you ordered it 2 days ago.

And the assistant who helped you,, sent you the above automatic message yesterday at 1:43 PM, and included in the message was the following snippet: "Great news you already have the right WIFI Hub for full fibre".

I believe that is a lazy and false statement.

The current router, HG633 is not suitable for any Full Fibre TalkTalk package, which is what you ordered.

The grey socket at the back of that router is suitable only for part-Fibre TalkTalk packages, which  TalkTalk often calls just 'Fibre packages'. The socket, which is required for a Full Fibre package is a WAN socket, usually coloured red, and which is not available in the current router.

As  listed by @ DJI_MINI_3 above, the available TalkTalk routers are:

Billx_0-1748385791302.png

Any of those would be OK, except the HG633.

There is also an additional suitable router not listed in the list, the TalkTalk WIFI Hub 2, which can additionally handle VOIP, if you did need it.

As far as I can see, if none of the staff here, can deal with above, you should contact the phone or chat service again.

Bill

Not not installed , which is why I am trying to sort the router before it's unstalled

@Mrobjoo

Just to be clear, you originally ordered the upgrade on 24 May you said earlier, so it cannot yet have been installed, surely?

@Mrobjoo, You might want to black out your wi-fi network name and password and the login name and password for the router's interface GUI (router settings) for security reasons, unless you have changed these details to something else after you got the router.

@Anonymous, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I considered this. But by using a Sagemcom Fast 5464 router that cost £20 instead of a switch, I get rid of the Eero 6 and the Grandstream DVA. I value aesthetics more than £ when the £ is of low value.

Sorry for introducing extraneous info causing thread to go off topic.
