Hi. I have the full fibre 900 package. Was promised around 940Mbps.

however on all wireless devices, only ever get around 550.

what’s the point in advertising 940Mbps but only ever get 550 at best.

cheers

Morning,

Can I just confirm, what speeds do you see if you connect wired at the ONT with the router removed?

Thanks

@Sasha1712

On a practical and perhaps pragmatic note, what is it you possibly want to do on an iPhone that needs more than 500 Mbps?

Hi, Your contract speed will only be guaranteed  by TalkTalk via a wired connection since WiFi can be erratic at the best of times. Just moving several meters away from the router can result in huge speed drops similar to what you have listed. Also factoring in household objects, walls, ceilings and RF interference could further reduce speeds.

Unless your router is faulty the only real way to prove the incoming speed will be a wired test.

Thanks.

Line test is passing and speed test from the eero for the last month have all been over 900Mbps.

Do you regularly get speeds of 550Mbps, as though the speed is being capped at 550Mbps?

Which speed tester are your using? Have you tried more than one?

OK thanks. Can you please update your community profile to include your:

  • Name
  • Telephone number
  • Alternative contact number

We'll then look into this further. Please do not post this information on this thread. Once you've updated your profile please post in your topic to confirm it's updated.

Thanks

Hi. It is a iPhone 13 Pro Max and also a 14 pro max. The 13 has WiFi 6 802.11ax so should easily achieve my max available. The 14 should be the same if not better.

Hi Sasha1712,

Are the devices that you've tested with capable of wireless speeds higher than 550Mbps?

Hi. It’s at the 550 speed when I’m near the eero. The further I go away the slower it gets. Back of my house is approx 250-300. I’ve reset the eero. Tried multiple devices, but never get faster than 550 in WiFi. Don’t see why it would be advertised as 900 if I only get 550. According to the download speed within the eero app it’s says in average 950. But I’ve never ever seen anything above 550.

Good morning,

Can I just confirm, how far are your wireless devices from the eero? Does the speed improve if you move the devices any closer?

Thanks
