I've had an openreach engineer randomly turn up this morning to randomly check my line, break it and reconnect it.
He said my line is showing as the worst one for this particular area and I just didn't buy what he was saying. My speeds are fine but he said if he checks and fixes this he'll be confident there'll be no other errors.
Has anyone had anything similar to this happen?
Thanks
Nikitta

Hi
openreach can sometimes be proactive if they detect faults in the area, especially with full fibre.
Unless this was a specific request from TalkTalk, we would not be able to see any details on the openreach systems for this visit, as we are only allowed to view details of appointments we specifically arrange.
Is your connection behaving itself currently ?

I did escalate this as promised. They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday) excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first. Please try to avoid posting on here until TalkTalk has responded to you, otherwise, this will just put you further down the queue.
To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture then click on "My Settings" followed by:-
Personal Profile > Personal Information
Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.

Thank you, my Internet dropped around a month ago and was fixed. This morning my partner seen them working at a cabinet up the street, then later on over the road from my property in one of the man holes then he knocked saying that.
I went out to ask if everything was ok and he said it seems fine but the prism is showing faults. Have absolutely no idea what he was talking about. He broke my line to test it or something I don't know.

I have never heard of this practice before. I will ask TalkTalk to comment in your thread about it.
