Tenda AX1800 RX3 Router with Full Fibre 65 Service

Hi all,

I'm trying to connect the Tenda router in place of the supplied TalkTalk router to improve Wifi coverage.

I've disconnected the TalkTalk router and  powered down the fibre interface and waited a while and connected the Tenda.

From the settings I can see that the service is DHCP with no username or password required and therefore I expected the Tenda to just connect without any bother.

The problem is that it does not and just sits there trying to connect.

Does anyone have experience of this ?

Is the TalkTalk service specific to the router supplied ie MAC address limited?

Many thanks

Hi @DRT22

That's great 🙂

If you do want to swap back to the TT router then please let us know here and we can change the profile again.

That will depend on which profile @Debbie-TalkTalk has put it on. The TT & eero routers require profile T.

Hi Debbie

Wonderful service thank you.  The new router connected immediately.

Just a final question - I'm now testing the new router for wifi coverage and if it doesn't turn out to be any better than the TalkTalk router can I switch back or would the profile need adjusting again?

Thank you.

Ok thanks, I'd just read that on City Fibre's website.

Cheers

It is not CityFibre that needs to do this, but TalkTalk. I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and check your profile for you.

They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday) excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first.

Many thanks for the quick reply.

It was indeed City Fibre so I'll contact them.

Appreicated.

Who installed your full fibre, was it Openreach, CityFibre or another company? If it is a CityFibre connection then you might need a profile change to support 3rd party routers.
