Tv with full fibre

I have had many problems with logging into TalkTalk and have spent literally hours and hours on chat. The situation was finally sorted out and as a result l had to phone to sort out a new box for tv which was an extra £5 a month l was told.
I phoned and was told l couldn’t have a new box at all as l had full fibre. Nobody in all the hours l had been on chat had ever mentioned this. I had only got in touch in the first place for a new tv box. Now it transpires l can’t have one.The situation is nothing less than ludicrous.

Hi

I understand you as l did the person that posted before. So as someone who doesn’t use my broadband very much at all can it be removed? It was something that l didn’t want in the first place. I would rather have the tv option.

Hi

So Sorry for your issues.  As fr8ys mentions, at this moment, connections via City Fibre cannot have TalkTalk TV Added to their services.  This may change in the future., but is not something we can proved currently.

Thanks

Karl.

I live on my own. I do not or never wanted the full fibre upgrade. I record tv programmes so a fire stick is of no use. I am 83 yrs old and not wishing to have the fastest broadband speed possible just broadband. The last thread l published had the word farce in it after my full fibre swap. This is also a farce, the only thing l really needed or went to TalkTalk for in the first place l cannot have.

Unfortunately if you have a city fibre connection then the boxes cannot connect to the TalkTalk network at the moment.

If you have a YouView box this should work, but if it's updated apps such a ITVX you are after I'd recommend considering an Amazon Fire Stick.

If you need a new box and are after recording functions, then search for a Freeview play box which are quite reasonable at the moment and will save you the £5 per month TV charge.

Please remember to mark Solved Posts with Best Answer. Doing so helps other customers and saves TalkTalk's Support Team time by only looking at unsolved topics. Thanks, Steve (a fellow customer).
