When I try and follow a website link from Google on my iPhone I get an error message saying can’t open or website unavailable. Turn the WiFi off and no problem. This only happens when on my home WiFi donuts obviously a TalkTalk or eero problem

You're welcome. I have not delved into Eero Secure, perhaps there are options to allow certain sites etc?

It is a content-blocking service, which a lot of routers do not have. To be 100% sure of the implications of doing this though, you would need to contact eero themselves.

So I followed the steps above, no joy, however I’ve returned it to default dns but left off the advanced security and it works, must be eero’s security blocking everything from Google? 🤷♂️ is that a risk leaving off the security ?

From the eero website:-
From the eero app,
-
Tap Discover
-
Tap eero Secure
-
Tap Advanced Security to toggle the feature on or off.

I’ve had a look but It won’t let me change the DNS settings unless I disable eero secure features? How do I do this? (Sorry, not very tech savvy, in case you hadn’t guessed😉)

Have you tried changing your network DNS servers within the eero app?
To change the network DNS servers from the standard TalkTalk DNS servers to something like Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) as an example, do this:-
-
Open the eero app.
-
Tap on Settings, then select Network Settings.
-
Tap on DNS.
-
In the DNS screen, change ISP DNS (Default) to Custom DNS.
-
Input your desired IPv4 and/or IPv6 DNS Server addresses.
-
Tap Save in the top right corner of the screen.
This will reboot your network in order to propagate the settings across your devices.

Works fine, in fact if I turn off the WiFi on my phone and reload it the page from Google it works without issue. It’s only when I follow a link from Google and only when connected to my home WiFi🤷♂️

What happens if you try to get to one of these sites, if you enter the address for that site in your browser, rather than going via Google?

Does this affect all WiFi-connected devices, or just one? I assume from your post that you have the eero router?
