Hi - We had Fibre150 installed last month and the new router position is no longer central resulting in the WiFi signal not reaching the far end of our house.  We have a couple of smart switches that require WiFi which are no longer working.

Is it possible to get one of the FAST266 mesh extenders to boost the signal ?

Hi SoF00,

I've ordered an eero and digital voice adapter, they should be with you within a couple of working days

"Ah, ok.  So assuming the FAST266 is not available any more (to match my existing router) can I ask does the eero have better range"

How to set up eero router and beacons should you need them -

We have a single eero in the kitchen and at the far end of the house in the bedroom the signal and speeds are great.

Each eero device should cover an area of 190m2 or 1,500 ft2. However, this range is highly dependent on several factors, such as: Your home's building construction (older with thick walls, or new builds with foil-insultation)

Looks good (should have googled that myself).

Debbie - Can we try the eero with voice option then please

Thanks

"Also I have a bit of port forwarding setup (don't trust uPNP) can this be done on the eero as I have heard that it is less configurable than the WiFI Hub 2"

I didn't think the eero came with phone socket ?  We still need to use the old phone.

You can use your existing phone with the eero router, watch the video below  -

Hi @SoF00

Thanks for your reply. It's giving me the option to order an eero, would you like to try this to see how the connection compares?

Hi Debbie,  Yes it's the TalkTalk WiFi Hub 2 with the phone port. The software is at SG4K100206.

Hi @SoF00

I'm sorry to hear this.

Can I just check, you have a WIFI hub and not an eero?
