Full fibre 500 not getting even minimum speed from that

From 3rd of march when my service was installed I'm getting constant issues with my package speed.

ONT > eero 6 pro router showing 517Mbps on eero app

Anything connected to main eero router by either wifi or cable (cat6) can't get past 300Mbps.

I have 2nd eero router in mesh network to main one and my PC connected to it by cat6 cable. Highest speed I was able to get on that is also 300ish Mbps.

I had openreach engineer come and check setup to ONT and everything is fine on that end, they even replaced older box to newer model on that day.

I have done already 30 min power down and nothing changed after that.

Had live chat with many "tech supports" with all of them being totally clueless.

This is how close I was doing speed test with my mobile today just to show tech support it is not coverage issue. And there is speed test added from that time as well and most recent pc test.

Not sure what else I can add to this entire situation.

OK thanks. I'll pass it over to our network team and ask them to take a look. I'll let you know when I receive an update or they may contact you directly

Test from post #11 was using my onboard lan card, not using adapter since then.

In post #10 i pointed out using the adaptor below to connect to Ethernet can cause speed issues are you still using that?

"Using TP-Link UE300 USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter connected to laptop and testing just now I got 188.96 Mbps with 3 devices taking 85 Mbps combined"

First speed test was done with my PC connected to my eero which is then in mesh network to main eero.

Second test was done with my PC connected straight to ONT box.

Both with same cat6 cable.

Just to confirm, did you run both speed test on the same device and did you use the same Ethernet cable for both tests?

Hi

Was kinda busy yesterday and cable arrived late, but did testing today just now.

Made 2 tests, one with normal setup which was this one:

22-0322-03

And another one directly plugged to ONT:

ontont

So I'm starting to wonder that if my main eero is somehow capping my speed somewhere.

Ye, already ordered it, will edit this post tomorrow when cable arrive and I will do some testing.

Message 9 of 34

It would certainly help, if you could.

If I had I wouldn't be talking about disassembling cable management. And long enough is around 10 meters. I guess cat6 10m is only £7 so I can order it and can test it tomorrow.

Do you not have a long ethernet cable you can use, just temporarily?

Not without disassembling entire cable management and taking it down 2 floors which honestly I'm not willing to do.

OK, one more thing to try: are you able to connect your wired PC directly to the LAN port on the ONT and run a test that way?

I have changed password in eero app for wifi so only my cable connected pc was able to get internet and this is a result.

Thanks but are you able to disconnect the devices and run another speed test, just to make sure that they aren't causing any problem

I have 3 devices barely taking anything from entire 500as you can see on eero app.

Today since 3rd of march for the first time test went that high.

Also I did re-contract my price and got sent another eero router, which I didn't want. So no idea what to do with it.

419 is not 440 last time I have checked.

Hi d34thscyth345,

All the speed tests from the eero, for the last month, are showing just over 500Mbps. Are you able to disconnect every device from the eero except the one that you're running the speed test on, just to make sure that there are no devices affecting the speed test result

Literally done 30 minute power down today morning before going to work. Nowhere near minimum speed i should get from 500Mbps

No wonder TalkTalk does not honour its customers.

I have Fiber900 and I only see 600-700.

TalkTalk keep asking same drill again again...pointless.

...will move away from TalkTalk when contract finish.

Hi d34thscyth345

Did you try the 30 minute power down of the router?
